12-21-2009 - Swimming and Sledding
Just got back from a terrific trip to Bonita Springs, Florida with the Putnams (Grandpa Dirk and Grandma Jackie) and the Newtons (Aunt Rebecca and Uncle Aaron). A great time was had by all.
HUGE props to Rebecca for planning the
whole thing and doing an unbelievable job of organizing a vacation for
three generations where everyone had a great time. No easy task. Here's the whole gang on one (we had two giant two-bedroom apartments) of our balconies on the last day in Florida.
We stayed at a giant Hyatt resort. The main attraction is the water. Pools. Lots of pools. There were six of them (3 big pools, one kiddie pool, two hot-tubs and a river) at our resort. And a mile up the road, another four pools plus a giant waterslide. Oh yeah, and six or so waterfalls. We also visited the Thomas Edison museum and spent a day at the beach (Gulf of Mexico). There are too many pix to spread through a webpage, so here's a slideshow of all the pix with some short captions.
And here's a bunch of videos from the trip.
Charlie in the main pool at our resort, where we all spent most of our time.
Charlie in the bounce house put up by the hotel one afternoon:
Overall, we couldn't have had a much better time. It was terrific.
We came back to NYC and were welcomed with a foot of snow. Actually, kind of a nice way to return, especially since our plane beat the snowstorm by two hours, otherwise we'd still be in Florida.
Last two videos from our snowy return to NYC. First, Charlie's leap into a snowbank, then his first solo sled ride.
